Viet Nam

Background

The German non-profit organisation InWEnt gGmbH – Capacity Building International is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to implement the programme “Technology management and innovation in Southeast Asia”. Part of this programme are two projects in Viet Nam and Thailand which support the set-up of pilot TBIs to foster entrepreneurship. Integral part of both projects, which are parallely run in the two countries, is the close cooperation with local partners, i.e. the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the Thai National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA).

During the last 2 years a number of workshops took place in a forerunner project in Viet Nam to enable the specialists and consultants of Vietnamese business development agencies, chambers, business associations and technology parks to plan, realise and market technological innovations. Main issues of the workshops were technology management, -consulting, -evaluation, financing and marketing. This knowledge is now transferred into the new project.
