Center for Research and Consulting on Management Technology Business Incubator - Hanoi University of Technology, Hanoi

Founded in 2004, CRC-TBI is Vietnam’s first full-service incubator. The initiative was initially funded by World Bank’s InfoDev program, and is the only Vietnamese institution among 42 InfoDev grantees around the world. It received generous support from HUT and Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), in terms of office space and facilities. It also attracted great interest from private corporations; many of them including FPT, IDG, Techcombank etc. have signed up to offer investments into incubatees and to sponsor regular activities. Top national competitions have invited CRC-TBI to join the advisory board and the judging panel, including “Trí Tuệ Việt Nam - Vietnam’s Intellect” national software competition by Lao Động newspaper, and “Khởi Nghiệp - Entrepreneurship” national business start-up competition by VTV3. By the end of 2005, 4 out 5 tenants have achieved significant successes, eg. securing major contracts, finding substantial private investments, or winning financial support from World Bank. MOST has asked CRC-TBI to serve as the first pilot site for the developing National Master Plan for Incubation, and its director Mr Pham was invited to deliver parts of trainings organized by InWent for MOST's 3 new pilot incubators. The CRC incubator premises are under establishment in the newly constructed building for the electronic library at HUT campus which is expected to be finalised at the end of 2005.
