Technology Business Incubator of Khon Kaen University, Khon Kaen (North-East Region)
TIKKU starts its operation in November 2005. It is located at Khon Kaen University (KKU) which is the largest and oldest university in the NE of Thailand. TIKKU’s premises are located at the Pienwijit Building of the Faculty of Engineering. The grand opening is in November 2005. It is one of the projects which received a grant from the Thai Commission for Higher Education and has the prospect of being the nucleus of a NE Science Park.

- Agro-industry (pre-/ post-harvesting technology, farm machinery, casting technology, food supply chain management)
- Information technology and software (geographic information systems, e-services, embedded systems)
- OTOP businesses (packaging technology, processing and manufacturing technology, transportation and logistics)
- Textiles, fashion (processing and manufacturing technology, design technology)
...biggest challenge?
To get TIKKU successful and to develop new businesses. TIKKU is a big challenge for research to go outside, as most research is usually put in the library.
...most beneficial in the project approach?
To learn how to write a feasibility study and how to run a business incubator. We have a chance to meet a lot of people that we did not know before, and we learned a lot from the other pilot TBI teams - we are in touch every week.
